Hi - we are the Crofton Youth Singers, based at Crofton Baptist Church, Orpington, Kent.
We have been in existence since 1988 and in that time the group has grown in number from eight to its present level of 20 girls aged from 6-18 (although we are actively seeking new members and we are always ready to take on boys).
Initially we sang from time to time in services and at special events at the church but, as our repertoire expanded, so did our ‘notoriety’, and invitations came in from other churches and venues in the Orpington area. We sing quite frequently in churches large and small, old people’s homes and day centres for blind folk.
What we sing
We sing a wide range of music in unison, two part and three part harmony. It's great fun.
Our repertoire continues to expand, and now includes well over 100 songs. Whilst the Christian basis of the Youth Singers is evident in the bulk of our repertoire, we do enjoy singing the popular songs from shows such as ‘Cats’, ‘Joseph’ and other such sources. And our concerts also include instrumental solos (flutes, double bass duet and harp).

The Crofton Youth Singers are very grateful to Bob Eagle for hosting this site. Bob was the accompanist for the London Emmanuel Choir. He has now developed a series of solo gospel concerts. Press here for more information about Bob's gospel concerts mainly in the South-East of England. These light gospel concerts are for Saturday evenings and especially designed for churches who want to invite friends from the community along to a social event with a gospel challenge. Bob combines singing, piano playing, even a touch of ventriloquism, with some observations, some lighthearted some serious, about the spiritual dimension of life. No sermon and nothing heavy. The evening can consist entirely of gospel songs or a combination of gospel and light entertaining music for a relaxing enjoyable non-threatening evening with an evangelistic element. Suitable also for harvest or alpha suppers, Church anniversary celebrations or outreach occasions. For further information about songs which have been written by Bob press here.
