FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I book Bob?

You need to contact him via email (shows@bobeagle.co.uk) setting out the proposed date, time and venue of the performance, and ideally a contact telephone number. Bob will then contact you to confirm availability and cost. Press here for further details.

What is the style of Bob's show?

Bob presents a solo musical stage show consisting of songs linked by chats with the audience. He intersperses piano solos, a touch of ventriloquism and a degree of audience sing-along participation, for a fun afternoon or evening's entertainment.

Please note: These are shows not background music. They are not suitable for any other event happening at the same time. The shows work best if the audience is seated in theatre style rows.

What type of songs does Bob sing?

Press here for more information about the types of shows and songs which Bob performs.

Please let Bob know if you have a preference for the type of music to be included.

Is there a Bob Eagle Christmas Show?

Yes. There are two shows. One which contains all the old Christmas standards. The other with carols and songs, suitable for a Church outreach event. Press here for further information.

Do I have to book a theatre?

Not necessarily. But a venue with a platform or stage is best. Bob does not now normally perform in rooms in residential or retirement homes because there is not usually sufficient space for the equipment.

What else do I need to provide?

The venue and the audience. A PA and lighting system are also helpful. Bob can bring his own PA system which will need a reasonably accessible 13 amp electricity socket. Press here for more information about space layout.

What equipment and PA does Bob bring?

There are 2 options:

  • For venues without PA, Bob provides the PA equipment which consists of speakers, piano keyboard (for some shows) and microphone all adjusted to produce a pleasant (not ear crashing) volume. Press here to see the equipment layout.
  • For venues with their own PA system, press here to see the PA and other equipment requirements for Bob's concerts.
Where the venue provides PA, Bob will need someone on hand to set up and operate the sound system during the performance, including sound checks before the performance begins.

Are any other special arrangements needed?

Bob will agree a time of arrival at the venue. He needs to be able to park the car as near as possible to the most convenient door to the venue to allow for unloading equipment. It will take about 15-30 minutes to set up the equipment and for sound tests.

What days are the shows available?

Bob is available for bookings during the week as well as at weekends, for afternoon or evening performances.

How long does the show last?

The full Bob Eagle Music Show is a two hour show including a 20 minute interval. But Bob can adapt his solo presentation to suit the audience, the occasion or the time with a fun and entertaining performance of music and good (clean) humour to suit most tastes and circumstances. You decide how long you want the show to last. Bob will stick to the time allocated.

Is there an interval in the show?

For a full length show there is an interval of about 20 minutes. For shorter sets there is normally no interval. The show goes straight through without a break.

Is it a one man show?

Usually, Yes. Bob gives a solo performance of chat, good humour, songs, piano pieces and sometimes a touch of ventriloquism. For his full length Bob Eagle Music Shows Bob will sometimes have a guest artiste.

Does Bob perform in Residential Care Homes?

Although Bob has performed in residential and retirement homes he does not now take new bookings for these venues. There is usually insufficient space in the rooms of such a venue. Bob suggests that you might like to hire a local hall (eg village or church hall) for him to perform a show so that you can enjoy a theatrical experience.

Can I go to see one of Bob's shows?

Details of public performances will appear on Performance Diary page.

Has Bob produced any records, tapes or CDs?

Yes. Bob's CD A Little Light Music, which can be purchased on-line, was released in August 2007. Press the link to download extracts of the songs.

Who is Bob?

Bob Eagle has been involved in a variety of musical activities for most of his life. Press here for more information.

How much does it cost to mount my own show?

The price depends on the purpose of the event; the size of audience and the travelling distance from Horsham. Email him for a quote.

When do I pay?

At the conclusion of the show Bob will pack up the equipment (about 10-20 minutes) and it would be helpful if you could settle the financial affairs then, by cheque or cash. We regret we cannot accept credit or debit cards.

Where does Bob perform?

He performs largely in venues in the South East of England, but can make arrangements to travel more widely. Its a different but highly enjoyable way of spending an afternoon or evening with live entertainment.

Does Bob perform shows suitable for Church related events?

Yes. Either in the form of a gospel concert or as a social or outreach event with a series of thoughts/observations along the way. Press here for further details.

Does Bob supply any resources to advertise the event?

Yes. For events which are open to the public Bob can send by email an A4 poster; a press release which can be sent to the local paper and radio station; an A5 flyer; and a Word based programme/brochure for the concert.

Press here for examples of fliers/posters which can be provided for you to print.

Are the poems which Bob uses in some shows available?
